I was born in Neath in South Wales in 1982 - Danielle Lisa Harwood. My mum took me to ballet class when I was barely walking - two years old!!! But I loved it, a real natural show off! When I was about six, I took up Gymnastics and joined a couple of dance schools, 'Peppermint's' and 'The Grand Theatre' in Swansea. I was always in different shows and competitions around the UK, my mum was constantly sewing sequins on my never ending costumes (Thanks mum!) and running around after me all the time. I discovered that I had a natural talent for performing, and was cast in many professional Pantomimes with big celebrities (they seemed like it at the time anyway)!!!
At 16 I left school with 9 G.C.S.E's and moved to Epsom, Surrey where I joined 'Laine Theatre Arts' stage school. I trained there for 3 years and left with numerous qualifications that enabled me perform as well as teach dance.
After three years of numerous dance jobs/auditions in the west end and on tour I went to my very first photo shoot, it was here that I discovered that I not only had talent on the stage but in front of the camera too. I knew I was always quite popular with the guys but never really thought about pursuing a career in modelling. I had my pictures developed showed them to a few agencies and BANG welcome Dannii Harwood! And boy was I impressed with the response!
I have only been modelling for five months and I've loved every minute of it and hope to enjoy many more years in the spotlight, whilst also pursuing a career in film and theatre, following in the footsteps of another local girl from back home, Catherine Zeta Jones. .
